i love lucy.

Once in his life, every man is entitled to fall madly in love with a gorgeous redhead{Lucille Ball}.
[picture on top is me on Halloween as I love Lucy--bottom picture is the making of the costume...I had the dress, and with help cut out the dots {made of the sticky back felt you would put on the bottom of a lamp or etc...} and sewed/super glued the red ribbon onto my apron, and printed out the I love Lucy logo and super glued it.

dee didley doop, i won an AWARD!!

**Thank you miss Susan Terese from ...{Life} or Something Like It..., which I love, love your blog, by the way. I am so excited to have won an award!! And extremely happy that people actually like reading about my loves..and have patience for my long winded thoughts {ha}.  Thank you thank you!

The Rules:
1. Thank the person who nominated you for this award.
2. Copy the logo and place it on your blog.
3. Link to the person who nominated you for this award.
4. Name 7 things about yourself that people might not know.
5. Nominate 7 Kreativ Bloggers.
6. Post links to the 7 blogs you nominate.
7. Leave a comment on each of the blogs letting them know they have been nominated.

Now for the 7 Things About Me that People Might Not Know...
1. My entire immediate family has/had red hair {my mom, dad, and two younger sisters}...although, my dad's turned brown after college, and is now peppered with grey.

2. When I was little I only played with barbies to dress them and do their hair, I never made any of them get married, or talk, I just liked to style them...

3. I played 3 sports in highschool {volleyball, basketball and track-sprints}, and I sang in the choir {which included a trip to sing in the All Conference Choir}.

4. I'm one of those weird people that loves to get dressed up for work {bring it on tweed and chiffon}.

5. I live a contradiction everyday: one of my favorite things to be is barefoot, however, one of my biggest loves is SHOES. {I know, I know contradiction times 500}, I also hate when my feet are cold...ohhh the struggle.

6. I love doing word seeks mostly, but word games are fun! Currently, I am working on the "Puzzler's Giant book of Word Games 32," which includes 562 pages of word games...this might take awhile.

7. In fourth grade I discovered my love for painting...first, I used to paint my nails every night to match my outfit for the next day...second, the same year I did my first watercolor painting {in which I had instruction} of a basket of flowers --I apologize here goes my story telling--I worked on this painting so much that my mom got mad at me because I didn't want to do any of my other homework until the painting was completed. However, I am a perfectionist, and still the painting is not "complete"...

And the Award Goes to...
Chelsea at Poppies and Peonies

**{I will finish awarding, I don't have time today, but I do promise more will come!}

**First things first, the two images below are on sale at anthropologie, and just happen to be calling my name {nice little transitionals for the summer-almost fall--fast approaching--season}.

--[images description: a. magnolis posts, b. umpteen cardigan.]
I really, really, really do not appreciate the coming of fall...however, I think everyone can share in the exictement of new fall clothes! ...mmm yes. I do love a sweater/jacket combo...just wish it was Arizona style cold I was gearing myself for.
for some inspiration check out anthropologie's {Top 10}

sunshine sunday.

as i'm sitting staring at my NEW COMFORTER {!} complements of my lovely mom and shabby chic collection {which I'm in love with} at Target...I was just thinking about how truly wonderful the wedding I went to yesterday afternoon was.

It was the best, most beautiful, but simple wedding! ahhhh. {not to mention the weather was picture perfect straight from angels looking down upon us} Words cannot do it justice, but here it goes:

Location: Winsted, MN {small town mn} on a beautiful family property situated on the only peninsula of the lake. gorgeous.

Decor: vintage inspired. handmade.

-mason jars equipped with candles {that automatically turned on when the sun set} hung from the branches of trees that formed a canopy over the isle of freshly cut green grass aligned with row of white chairs.

-9 barefoot clad bridesmaids dressed in a combination of 4 different dresses {via anthropologie & j. crew)...holding freshly cut wild flowers.

-9 suspender bound groomsmen draped in pin-stripe vintage-muted antique white-blue pants, button up soft blue collared shirts, and chocolate ties

-THE BRIDE {!} vintage inspired,...soft antique cream laced hippie-esque ....with touches of hand sewn cream and muted rose flowers on the bottom hem of the gown.......barefoot, flower embelished and old time hollywood curled hair. So beautiful.

-THE GROOM {!} khaki suit, but soft, not stuffy. chocolate brown tie.

- {to the right} underneath a very large whit tent: tables centered with 3-4 mason jars: 1-2 full of the same flowers the bridesmaids carried, 1 mason jar fitted simply with a single sunflower, 1 including a branch; the simple letters N & S hanging in the form of paper tags from it. all on top of a white table cloth draped with a single soft colored rectangle runner, sprinkled with random buttons as confetti.

- Apres the ceremony the rows of chairs were transferred to the tables, and a dance floor was placed atop the grass.

---grilled chicken and hamburgers, potatoes, vegetable mix, salad, and Homemade desert {!} ...the only kind of desert I like. pies {raspberry, rubarb-strawberry, blueberry}, crisp {peach & rubarb}; popcorn machine, rootbeer keg, candy bar.

--> -->however great all of the above was, what truly made the wedding so absolutely wonderful was the love that was conveyed by their families and friends, and for eachother! .....something anyone should aspire for.

**I'll post pictures when I receive them {forgetful me forgot to bring my own camera!! ugghh...so I shall wait to get the pictures others took} ...I did take some with my phone, but they just don't do it anything close to justice.

future.

sooo today I went on a run {for the first time in about a month} anyways, I decided some future endeavors I would like to strive for and obtain...

a. sometime in life I would love to sky dive.
b. someday I would love to say job description: CEO, mentor, friend.
c. I have always thought about taking over the family business....only time will tell!
d. I am going to take the GMAT, and take a crack at getting my MBA.
e. I am going to start {once again...as I did in highschool} an inspiration journal, which I'll most likely share on here too....this will probably be what I will achieve first on this list, but hey, a start is a start!
f. I am going to attempt to either draw, paint, or add a page in my inspiration journal everyday.

blue, white. and almost like new.

here's what my dresser looks like all re-finished by me...it was my first time ever re-finishing furniture let alone painting furniture! But I went for an antique blue; the handles are ones I have collected from anthropologie clearance. {don't mind the piles next to it...i was/am in the process of getting my room how i want it!}

art. art. art.

sharing a little article via NYTimes.

"Artists fortunately remind us that there’s in fact no single, correct way to look at any work of art, save for with an open mind and patience. If you have ever gone to a museum with a good artist you probably discovered that they don’t worry so much about what art history books or wall labels tell them is right or wrong, because they’re selfish consumers, freed to look by their own interests."--MICHAEL KIMMELMAN

goût de terroir.

interesting article...amazing or one could say insane i suppose...how one little bean can lead to machine guns and helicopters.

7.24.2009

luff at first sight.

This could be love at first sight...times 4. new from Coach! ...yet, another addiction... my profession made in heaven: personal shopper. or professional buyer. ...dreaming...or visual merchandising...oh yes. how i dream.
Now:
A. the brown could be plum and then i would be in all kinds of love with it.
B. no comment. beautiful. loving the pumps. love love love.
C. the sneakers could use some adjusting. I love gold yes I do, but I could do without the dance-costume-esque sequins. how about a little gold fade from tan or antique white.
D. perhaps the rope wrap could be in gold chain. or it could stay the same...either way must have. mmm mmmm mmm. like chicken noodle soup on a cold day. don't you just want to use for a multi purpose pillow? maybe that's just me.

7.18.2009

addiction to nytimes. home&garden section.

LOVE.  Slide 1 is a difinite. ahhhh I thought I loved fashion, but somehow my love for interiors is equal.

bring it back to 402. Cannes,France.

Kind of rediculous that I was able to study in the same place that has been such a milestone to so many others...
Above from top down: 1.view from my room at Le College International de Cannes in Cannes, France. 2. Me (on the left) with two of my best friends on the beach literally 100feet from our room at school in Cannes, this was taken in November, yeah shuh up. seriously november. glorious. 3. the door to my room! :)

6.18.2009

mixed aesthetics. yum.

love mixed aesthetics. not a huge fan of neon colors, but can deal when they are mixed with vintage. also, would require a more comfy couch...but i'm partial to a huge dirty brown leather Monstrosity aka great place for naps, dinner and a movie...all of the above.

6.08.2009

living on summit! :)

Sammi and I signed our lease on Saturday...and me ( as usual flying by the seat of my pants), saw it for the first time !! SO great! ...can't wait to live there! ...Now I need a job asap. seriously. But we're living on the third floor of a mansion on summit in st. paul and off of our kitchen there is a secret disco room...well we're calling it that, and putting a disco ball in it, so we don't get creeped out by it. haha. The rooms are huge, and we're having the land lady paint our walls "latte," as both of us are sick of white, but this way we won't have to worry about painting again later!

Also, I am planning on antiquing my furniture I'm thinking black, and I might do the drawers antique white, we'll see what I'm feeling. I just need this rain to stop so I can do it outside! :)

6.04.2009

neutrals.

Black and brown do "go together."
Christian Louboutin AND mother nature agree, in this fabulous leopard print louboutin slingback. grrrr. ;)

5.29.2009

anthro. my love.

oooo la la. look what I found at anthropologie. yum. if i were i swimsuit i would definitely be the purple one above. seriously delicious. enough flow so it makes all the curves look right and in the right places, none of the side digging i do not appreciate.

Je suis comme ça.

"Je suis comme ça. Ou j'oublie tout de suite ou je n'oublie jamais."--Samuel BECKETT

Summer is unquestionably my favorite time of year. This is a picture of me in one of my favorite places in the entire world: the BWCA, in northern minnesota; I never knew a place that could make you feel so free. Finding and posting this picture however, is just me being distracted while pretending to finish cleaning my old appartment.
